Most Chevy Chase colonials and Tudors were built with small reach-in closets in the master bedroom — a pair of bifold doors covering five or six linear feet. Homeowners doing master suite renovations frequently want to convert an adjacent bedroom or carve a dedicated walk-in from the existing floor plan. Pannello draws both types: converted-room walk-ins and enhanced reach-ins that maximize what is already there.

For the converted-room walk-in, we draw floor-to-ceiling wardrobe runs on three walls and a center island where the room supports it. The doorway between the master bedroom and the new closet is treated as part of the design — not left looking like a hole in a wall. We protect original Chevy Chase floors with the same Ramboard-and-masonite system we use for kitchen installs.

Wood veneer or matte lacquer throughout — same material library as our Chevy Chase kitchens. Motion-activated LED inside the wardrobe and accent wash outside where specified. 3 to 5 week fabrication from final shop drawing approval.

Why Pannello

A walk-in, drawn as a room

We start by drawing the room — door swings, mirror placement, island position, sightlines from the bedroom. Then we lay out hanging, drawers, and shoe storage to match the way you actually dress.

Chevy Chase questions

Common questions about Walk-in Closets in Chevy Chase.

Can Pannello convert a guest bedroom in our Chevy Chase colonial into a walk-in closet?

Yes — this is one of the most common Chevy Chase closet projects we draw. We assess the existing bedroom dimensions, adjacent wall conditions, and doorway placement, then design the wardrobe layout and lighting as a complete room rather than a cabinet installation.

How small can a Chevy Chase walk-in closet be and still be useful?

A useful walk-in with two wardrobe runs needs at least 8 by 10 feet. For a center island you need at least 10 by 12. Smaller footprints work better as enhanced reach-ins — we map this during the field measure and recommend the right format for the actual space.

Can you match a Chevy Chase closet finish to a kitchen we had done by another company?

Yes — bring us a door sample or finish specification from your kitchen. We match as closely as the material allows and show you a comparison at the showroom before fabricating anything.
